Kairos
“I was in prison and you visited me”
WHO WE ARE
Kairos Prison Ministry Australia is an interdenominational Christian ministry reaching out to incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them; to bring sustainable meaning and hope in the place of loneliness, isolation and despair. Kairos is building Christian Community in response to the challenge issued by our Lord Jesus “I was in prison and you visited me” (Matthew 25:36) to share with inmates and their families the unconditional love of God. To enable a vision of the abundant life that a relationship with Jesus gives.
Our Team is drawn from the major denominations around the Riverina and Sacred Heart Parish have several members with some being involved for 15 years. We are currently looking for members to join our Team. The ministry involves spending time with inmates in Junee and Mannus Correctional Centres.
As one member has stated: “It is one of the best things I have ever done. Not only have I seen huge change in so many of the men I have known over the years, but it has also brought about huge change for the better in me personally.”
One very prominent clergy said: “It is the best example of practical Christianity I have ever known.”
